Established Single Family Office serving 4 generations and 22 households seeks a seasoned senior wealth advisor to counsel its UHNW clients regarding investments, cash flow, insurance, trust, estate, and other wealth planning strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of comprehensive wealth planning and understanding of key financial concepts.
  • College degree or post-college training in accounting, tax, finance, investment management, financial planning, or similar wealth management field of study.
  • Proven track record of managing client relationships and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., CFP, PFS, CPA, CFA, or equivalent) is preferred.

Seaside Ohana Investments (SOI), a single family office, with offices in Honolulu and Denver, is seeking a Senior Wealth Advisor with a proven track record of working with multiple generations within the UHNW client base to provide comprehensive financial services to manage wealth strategically, including: investment management, estate planning, trust management, cash flow planning, risk management, and other subject matter. Build and maintain strong relationships with family clients and team members as a trusted advisor. Work collaboratively with team members. No business development required. A location of Denver or Honolulu is preferred. A remote location will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the SOI team to conduct meaningful financial review and trustee/beneficiary meetings for family clients.
  • Periodically present educational topics to the family group in an informative and engaging manner.
  • Deliver proactive, holistic, and customized financial guidance and support to family clients, according to their needs and desires.
  • Work with family clients, the SOI Tax Director, and external CPAs to optimize wealth transfers and minimize taxes (no tax compliance work required).
  • Work with family clients, the SOI Tax Director, and external attorneys to draft updates to estate planning documents to reflect changes in life circumstances or enhancements to estate planning.
  • Work with the SOI Tax Director, finance team, and external insurance broker to monitor the performance and adequacy of trust owned variable life insurance policies. Work with family clients to obtain life insurance when appropriate.
  • Work with family clients, the CEO, the finance team, and external investment advisors to periodically evaluate whether the client’s current asset allocation meets their needs. Work with the CEO and external investment advisors to ensure the investments in the various asset classes are meeting investment mandates.
  • Work with the finance team to generate appropriate meeting and reporting content in a timely manner to foster an understanding of financial condition and enable good decision making.
  • Work with the Executive Assistant and external insurance brokers to ensure that client risks are covered appropriately with property, casualty, and liability insurance.
  • Utilize software to improve the planning process (currently using eMoney and Vanilla).
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating the efforts of fellow team members to meet client needs.
  • Engage in continuous learning and improvement to evolve expertise to meet the needs of family clients.
  • Mentor junior advisors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • College degree or post-college training in accounting, tax, finance, investment management, financial planning, or similar wealth management field of study.
  • Certification as a CFP®, PFS, CPA, CFA, or equivalent is desired.
  • Experience with communicating complex financial concepts clearly and effectively to gain client trust and adoption of techniques to grow family wealth.
  • Seasoned generalist with technical knowledge of all facets of wealth management including estate planning, investment management, cash flow planning, income tax planning, charitable planning, risk management, and succession planning.
  • Friendly demeanor and strong emotional intelligence to empathize with clients. Comfortable with people with a wide range of personalities, interests, and ages.
  • Collaborative and collegial. Work with team members and outside advisors to provide comprehensive and cohesive financial services for each family client’s best interest.
  • Creative thinker and solution finder.
  • Hard worker with attention to detail and a strong sense of personal responsibility.
  • High level of discretion and judgment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.

“Nice to Have” Qualifications:

  • Family Office experience.
  • Experience with financial planning software such as “eMoney”.
  • Experience with estate planning software such as “Vanilla”.
  • Investment Committee experience.
  • Curious and innovative with the courage to try new things to improve processes and client services.
